Mia, Mia, Mia

Mia has been with us almost 2 months! She will be 14 months on August 17th. Nick sums it up well. He says "Mia is the best baby in my whole life". We are so thrilled to have her join our family...she brings so much happiness to our home. She is a beautiful baby and very smart too. It's funny because we met someone who after looking at Nick and Mia commented on how it is interesting that Asian feature will show up in one child more that the other (for those of you who do not know, I am half Chinese, so Nick is a quarter Chinese). When the 4 of us are out together we sometimes get some confused looks. It's pretty funny!

At nearly 14 months Mia:
-walks but is still a little bit unsteady on her feet

-crawls up the stairs
-points with her finger and says "look"
-says mama and dada

-says "hot" and "bottle" or "baba", and "cat"

-loves to dance to music
-hits the side of her head so we will imitate her
-eats everything except cantelope...she throws it on the ground
-gives open mouth kisses
-loves going in the pool
-claps, waves bye-bye
-loves her big brother who makes her laugh
-sleeps 11 to 12 hours/night with 1 to 2 hour naps every day
-is wary of strangers
-still dislikes the cat
-loves swings
-loves being on Daddy's shoulders

-enjoys being pushed in Nick's toy truck (yes, she fits)

-weighs 19.4 pounds (with just a shirt on) and measures 28 3/4 inches; this means she has gained about 2 pounds and grown 3/4 inches since we met her
